Let go,
forgive.
Grasping or clutching
cannot freeze a moment or
stop the inevitable flow.
When it is time,
flowers drop their petals and
trees their leaves.
Rain washes the world clean,
as do my tears.
And then, like trees and flowers
in spring,
I begin again.
Letting go and leaving the past in the past is a daily spiritual challenge. Thank you for the reminder!
Thanks, Anne Marie. I always think of St. Paul’s advice to keep moving forward.
Lovely poem Madeline, just what’s needed! I’ve shared via Twitter (and also followed you): https://twitter.com/ExploringColour/status/1296618618738769920
