I think of you daily and am “holding you in the light”.💗

    Dear Madeline,

I was so sorry to read about the loss of your Mom.

Your poem today really spoke to me. *Untethered *is the word that came constantly to my mind when I lost my mom, who was the surviving parent. I still use it all the time when assisting families in planning funerals for that second parent. Nothing is deeper than our identity as someone’s child. Being “orphaned” is a whole separate loss to recognize and mourn on top of the loss of each parent.

After my mom died in my late 50s, I just kept thinking, “But whose kid am I going to be now?”

Of course, then 1 John: 3 fell into my lap: *Beloved, we are God’s children now…. *It helped, and still does.

Wishing you peace and God’s comfort,

    Mary

I to to the Gospel scene where Jesus tells Mary Magdeline “do not cling to me”…but Christ,,our soul demands we remember you in Jesus! I’m not ready to do a spiritual (christ) end run around the memory…of your body!!!
