From Ireland, I went to France for the beginning of a three-week tour which began in Fontainebleau–and each day began with pain au chocolat (I love a Country that offers chocolate first thing in the morning!).
Chateau de Fontainebleau dates to the 12th century and has been added to, updated and modified over the centuries. It was a favorite of King Henri II, King Henri IV and Napoleon Bonaparte.
Although it was early spring, flowers were beginning to blossom.
I traveled to Ireland last month visit friends who live near Dublin. We visited Powerscourt Gardens and then the Powerscourt Waterfall, which is a few miles from the Garden.
We also spent some time in Dublin (at the National Gallery of Ireland and St. Stephen’s Green).
I want to have hope,
believe in what’s possible
and trust in new life.
Daring move to make,
putting the shovel away.
No more snow. Come, spring.
A bird trills as the
sun rises and welcomes a
new day…sing with her.
Snow melts and reveals
what was hidden below ground.
Daffodils sprout up.
