Here are a few more pictues from my recent trip to Lyon, France.
Lyon has many passageways called Traboules which were used during the days of silk making and later used by resistors during World War II. This stairway is part of an interior passageway in an apartment building.

The warm colour of the Liberty replica is lovely, and the form of the stairway against the various levels is fascinating (and reminds me of Escher’s work). Very enjoyable to see these.. thanks!
Funny you should mention Escher, because that was the person I thought of standing at the stairway. I also had that feeling at the cathedral in Marseille becuase the storework looks like a checkerboard but is really stripes (I will post those pics next week).
Love the pictures. Hope you are doing well, and having a great time. 🙏🍷😘
I absolutely love France, which surprises me because I never expected to feel such a connection.
Like these, especially the stairway. Miche
Thanks, Michele. Funny story about the stairway–there was a professional photographer set up with his tripod set up for the best shot, but he had stepped away for a minute so I stepped in front of his tripod to take some pics. He apparently thought I was going to touch his tripod and came back to save it–although I did not even get near his tripod. Georgia said his face registered shock and horror that I might mess with his tripod. It was an interesting place.
